Operation Based on Real-Time Intelligence

According to police officials, the breakthrough came after gathering timely intelligence through a combination of social media monitoring and field-level inputs. This coordinated approach allowed authorities to identify suspicious activity and respond without delay. Acting on these inputs, a team from the Special Staff of the East District moved quickly to set up surveillance in the Pandav Nagar area.

The operation was carefully planned, with officers laying a trap to intercept the suspects at the right moment. Their swift response reflects an increasing reliance on both digital tracking tools and traditional intelligence networks to prevent crime.

Suspects Intercepted in Pandav Nagar

The two accused were stopped while travelling in a car in the Pandav Nagar locality. Police identified them as Vishal, also known as Tussu, aged 20, from Trilokpuri, and Anurag, also known as Budhi, aged 21, from Kalyanpuri.

Officials stated that the duo was moving in a suspicious manner, raising concerns about their intentions. Based on preliminary findings, authorities believe that timely intervention prevented a possible offence. The suspects were taken into custody on the spot without any reported resistance.

Recovery of Weapons and Vehicle

During the search operation, the police recovered a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, and a button-operated knife from the possession of the accused. In addition, the white car in which they were travelling was seized as part of the investigation.

Police officials emphasized that the recovery of these items indicates the seriousness of the situation. The presence of illegal firearms suggests that the suspects may have been preparing for unlawful activity, although the exact motive is still under investigation.

Case Registered and Investigation Underway

Following the arrests, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act at the Pandav Nagar police station. Authorities have begun a detailed investigation to determine whether the accused have links to other criminal cases.

The suspects are currently being questioned to gather more information about their activities, associations, and possible involvement in past incidents. Police are also examining their backgrounds to identify any prior records or connections.

Focus on Tracing Weapon Supply Chain

Officials have indicated that efforts are underway to trace the origin of the illegal weapons recovered during the operation. Identifying the supply chain is considered a key priority, as it may help uncover a larger network involved in the distribution of unlawful arms.

Such investigations often lead to further arrests and can play an important role in curbing organized crime. Police believe that dismantling these networks is essential to improving long-term public safety.

Team Behind the Operation

The operation was conducted by a dedicated team led by Inspector Jitendra Malik, working under the supervision of ACP Pawan Kumar. The team included Sub Inspector Aman, Head Constables Vineet, Vishal, and Naresh, along with Constable Sanoj.

Officials noted that the success of the operation highlights the effectiveness of coordinated teamwork and intelligence-driven policing. By combining technological tools with on-ground vigilance, the team was able to act swiftly and prevent a potential threat.

Emphasis on Preventive Policing

The police described the operation as a significant example of preventive policing, where action is taken before a crime occurs. Such efforts are increasingly becoming a focus for law enforcement agencies, particularly in urban areas where timely intervention can make a crucial difference.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining public safety through proactive measures and encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
