According to official sources, the victim, a foreign exchange delivery executive, had traveled to the Juhu area to deliver foreign currency to a client. During the visit, he was intercepted by a group of five individuals. Among them were two police constables, identified as Sandeep Shinde, aged 33, and Gajendra Rajput, aged 40.
The accused allegedly forced the executive into their custody and transported him from Juhu to Dahisar. During this journey, the victim was reportedly assaulted and threatened before being robbed of $10,000 in foreign currency.
Arrest and Immediate Police Action
The situation took a turn when Dahisar police patrol officers noticed an altercation involving one of the accused and the victim. Acting promptly, officers detained Shinde at the scene. However, the remaining suspects managed to escape.
During questioning, Shinde reportedly disclosed the involvement of his colleague, Rajput, who was subsequently arrested from his residence in Thane. Police are currently working to trace the remaining three suspects who are believed to have participated in the crime.
