Crime – Husband and Accomplice Arrested in Brutal Murder Case
Crime – A disturbing murder case in Maharashtra’s Virar region has led to the arrest of a man and his associate for allegedly killing a 23-year-old woman whose decomposed body was discovered earlier this month. The police confirmed that the victim was identified as Madhubala, also known as Priyakumari Roshan Yadav, originally from Uttar Pradesh.
Body Discovered Along Roadside
The case came to light on March 21 when local authorities found the woman’s decomposed body within the limits of Shiravali village, situated along the Vajreshwari-Shirshad Road. The condition of the body indicated that the crime had taken place several days prior to its discovery, prompting an immediate investigation.
Officials from the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar Police began efforts to identify the victim and understand the circumstances surrounding her death. Initial findings raised suspicions of foul play due to visible injury marks.
Suspicion Within Marriage
During the course of the investigation, police uncovered that the woman’s husband had been harboring doubts about her character. Investigators believe this suspicion became the primary motive behind the crime.
According to police sources, the accused allegedly conspired with a friend to carry out the murder. The plan was reportedly executed with calculated steps, indicating prior intent rather than a spontaneous act.
Planned Attack and Brutal Killing
Authorities revealed that the accused transported the victim to the crime location on a motorcycle. Once there, the woman was attacked using a sharp weapon. The assault was severe and left little chance of survival.
The postmortem examination later confirmed that the victim died due to a combination of injuries. Her throat had been slit, and she sustained multiple blows to the head, which ultimately proved fatal. Following these findings, a formal case was registered at Mandvi Police Station.
Extensive Investigation Leads to Arrest
The breakthrough in the case came after an extensive review of surveillance footage and missing persons records. Police teams reportedly analyzed more than 500 CCTV clips collected from various locations in and around the area.
Simultaneously, officers cross-checked reports of missing women to establish the victim’s identity and trace possible suspects. This systematic approach helped investigators narrow down leads and identify those involved.
Crime Branch Unit-3 played a key role in tracking the movements of the accused. Based on collected evidence and technical analysis, both the husband and his alleged accomplice were taken into custody.
Ongoing Legal Proceedings
Police officials have stated that further investigation is underway to gather additional evidence and reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the murder. Authorities are also examining whether any other individuals had knowledge of or involvement in the crime.
The accused are expected to face charges related to murder and criminal conspiracy under relevant sections of the law. Officials emphasized that the case highlights the importance of timely investigation and the role of surveillance in solving serious crimes.
