Wall-to-Wall Roads as a Pollution Control Strategy According to Chief Minister Gupta, dust is the main cause of Delhi’s pollution levels. The “wall-to-wall” road approach, which involves covering the full road width—including pavements and center verges—to remove bare soil where dust builds up, is being implemented by the government as a solution to this problem.

“The government cannot manage pollution on its own; the people must also actively participate. The Chief Minister said, “People need to know their responsibilities and take the necessary actions to cut down on smoke and dust.”

She also gave all MLAs strong instructions to follow this strategy while building or fixing roads in their districts. Legislators have been given special cash worth millions of rupees to guarantee the effort has no financial obstacles. The former government was also chastised by the CM for not coming up with a tangible strategy to address the city’s environmental problem.
