Police Launch Immediate Search Operations

According to senior police officials in Mohali, anti-sabotage teams were swiftly deployed to the schools mentioned in the emails. Security personnel carried out detailed inspections of classrooms, administrative blocks, and surrounding premises to rule out any danger.

The email threats also named Fortis Hospital, where a thorough security sweep was conducted as a precaution. Police temporarily suspended non-essential services at the hospital while ensuring that emergency and critical medical services continued without interruption.

Officials confirmed that no suspicious items or explosive materials were found during the inspections. Authorities described the response as part of standard protocol aimed at safeguarding students, staff, patients, and visitors.

Fortis Hospital Under Tight Security

Security arrangements at Fortis Hospital had already been strengthened in recent days following the admission of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The Chief Minister was readmitted to the hospital on Monday evening, only hours after being discharged.

Sources indicated that Mann returned to the facility after experiencing exhaustion. Although hospital authorities did not disclose further medical details, officials maintained that his condition was stable and under medical supervision.

In light of the threat emails referencing the hospital, additional security personnel were stationed around the premises. Police teams conducted systematic checks in and around the building to eliminate any potential risk.

Schools Evacuated as Precautionary Measure

The situation escalated on Wednesday when as many as sixteen private schools in Mohali reported receiving similar bomb threat emails. School administrations promptly informed law enforcement agencies and initiated evacuation procedures to ensure student safety.

Parents were notified, and children were sent home as a precaution. Police and anti-sabotage units combed through school buildings, playgrounds, and parking areas. After extensive searches, authorities confirmed that no explosives or hazardous materials were discovered.

Officials emphasized that while the threats caused anxiety among parents and students, all indications so far suggest that the messages were hoaxes. Nevertheless, investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the emails and identify those responsible.

Pattern of Similar Threats Across Region

The Mohali incident follows a series of comparable threats reported in recent weeks across northern India. Educational institutions in Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, and parts of Haryana have also received bomb threat emails.

In each case, detailed inspections were carried out, and no explosives were found. Authorities have classified those incidents as false alarms but continue to treat every new threat with seriousness to prevent complacency.

Security experts note that such hoax threats, while not resulting in physical harm, can disrupt academic activities and create unnecessary panic. Police have reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found responsible for spreading false information that threatens public safety.

Investigation Underway

Cybercrime units have joined the investigation to track the origin of the emails. Officials are examining technical details, including IP addresses and server data, to determine whether the threats are connected to earlier incidents in the region.

Meanwhile, security remains heightened at educational institutions and key public facilities in Mohali. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and rely only on verified information issued by official sources.

Police continue to monitor the situation closely, assuring residents that all necessary steps are being taken to maintain safety and prevent any untoward incident.
