In a press release, BMRCL said, “Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) wishes to inform its commuters that the train services on the Yellow Line will commence one hour late than the scheduled time on 21 December 2025 (Sunday).”

What is the reason for the delayed launch of Namma Metro Yellow Line services?
In order to optimize operations, the BMRCL has advised that services would start an hour later than planned due to critical system maintenance and upgrades.

Updated timetable
The first train service on the Yellow Line will start at 8:00 AM rather than the customary 7:00 AM, according to BMRCL.

The services will thereafter proceed according to the standard Sunday timetable. “This change is applicable only for one day, i.e, 21.12.2025 on the Yellow Line,” said BMRCL.

The Purple Line and Green Line train timetables would remain unchanged, the Namma Metro administration said.

“We ask that travelers be aware of this temporary modification and adjust their itinerary appropriately. The BMRCL Public Relations Officer expressed apologies for the disruption to passengers and asked for their continuing cooperation and understanding.

The distance will grow from the present 96 km to 175 km by the end of 2027, according to the BMRCL, which is actively trying to develop the metro network.

Managing Director J Ravishankar discussed the BMRCL growth plan, stating that the Namma metro would run on 225 km by 2030 and that the metro network will grow from 96 km to 175 km by the end of 2027.
