Bengal: On the 163rd anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s birth, the chief minister of appeals for “unity, peace, and harmony.”
Bengal : Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called on the people to continue on the road of “unity, peace, and harmony” on Monday, the 163rd anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s birth.

“Our patriotism and all social service are inspired by Swami Vivekananda.” I have always been inspired by his values of love for the nation, helping the underprivileged and suffering, and promoting harmony, peace, and unity. Our nourishment is the way of unity across all faiths that Swamiji demonstrated to us. Inspired by Swamiji’s principles, the Chief Minister said in a statement that she shared on social media, “May all the people of Bengal — regardless of religion or caste — respect and love one another — this is our sole prayer.”
The Chief Minister provided information in her post on the actions taken by the state government under her leadership to preserve Swamiji’s teachings and memory in the hearts of West Bengalis.
In honor of Swami Vivekananda, our government has taken a number of actions. The ancestral home of Vivekananda and the two residences connected to Sister Nivedita in Bagbazar, Kolkata, and Darjeeling, respectively, have been bought and given to the Ramakrishna Mission and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, respectively, and are being maintained as popular tourist sites. Additionally, the maternity house in Bagbazar has been renovated,” she said on social media.
She also said that the state government has constructed the necessary infrastructure for the growth of the Ramakrishna Mission and the surrounding regions at Kamarpukur, which is centered on the birthplace of Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, and that more construction is ongoing.
In addition, a center for education and culture called ‘Vivek Tirtha’ is being created in New Town, inspired by the principles and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. The land for it has been supplied by us. It is being constructed by the Ramakrishna Mission. In addition to asserting that several educational institutions carrying the names of the Shri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada, and Swami Vivekananda missions get monthly financial support, the Chief Minister said, “We are also bearing a large portion of the construction costs.”
On the occasion of National Youth Day, which is observed on the anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s birth, she also sent wishes.To our nation’s patriotic young men and women, I send my best regards. According to Swamiji, the future of a country is shaped by its young people. In order to guide them into a new period of advancement, our government is dedicated to providing them with opportunities, education, and skills. Let’s make a commitment to “Arise, Awake, and Stop not until the goal is reached.”
