ArtificialIntelligence – Prime Minister Narendra Modi met leading artificial intelligence entrepreneurs from around the world at Seva Teerth on Friday, where his recently relocated office is now based. The high-level roundtable focused on the expanding influence of artificial intelligence and India’s evolving role in shaping global technology conversations.
Focus on Solving Large-Scale Challenges
According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the participating startups presented solutions aimed at addressing challenges affecting large populations. In the healthcare sector, several companies outlined how artificial intelligence is being used for advanced diagnostics, gene therapy research, and streamlined patient record management. These technologies, officials said, are helping extend quality medical services to remote and underserved communities.
In agriculture, entrepreneurs discussed AI-driven tools such as geospatial analytics and underwater intelligence systems designed to improve farm productivity and manage climate-related risks. The applications include monitoring crop health, assessing soil conditions, and improving fertiliser efficiency.
Broad Spectrum of AI Applications
The delegation also included companies working in cybersecurity, ethical AI frameworks, space technology, and enterprise modernisation. Some startups highlighted efforts to promote access to justice and education through vernacular AI platforms, making digital tools more accessible to citizens who prefer regional languages.
In its statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said the range of ventures present at the meeting reflected an ecosystem focused on meeting domestic requirements while positioning India as a leader in AI-driven innovation.
Industry Leaders Applaud India’s AI Growth
During the discussion, several chief executives acknowledged India’s steady efforts to strengthen its artificial intelligence ecosystem. Participants noted that AI research, development, and deployment are expanding rapidly across the country, with significant untapped potential remaining.
They also pointed to growing international interest in India’s technology landscape, observing that global AI momentum is increasingly aligning with the country’s innovation ecosystem.
The CEOs commended the India AI Impact Summit, describing it as a significant platform that demonstrates India’s growing influence in shaping international AI policy and industry standards.
Prime Minister Highlights Responsible Innovation
Prime Minister Modi congratulated innovators for pursuing bold ideas and building solutions with measurable social impact. He emphasised the importance of applying AI tools to critical sectors such as agriculture and environmental conservation. Among the examples discussed were systems for tracking crop productivity and optimising fertiliser use to preserve soil health.
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to promote Indian languages and cultural inclusion in technological development. He encouraged expanding AI-based educational tools that support higher learning in the mother tongue, noting that linguistic accessibility is essential for inclusive growth.
Addressing concerns surrounding emerging technologies, he underscored the importance of strong data governance frameworks. He cautioned against misinformation and highlighted the need for AI systems tailored specifically to India’s unique social and economic landscape.
Digital Innovation and Space Sector Expansion
Referring to India’s Unified Payments Interface as an example of simple and scalable digital innovation, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in domestic technology solutions. He urged industry leaders to continue building trust in Indian-developed products and platforms.
He also spoke about expanding private sector participation in the space industry, noting that investor interest in Indian startups remains robust. The discussion reflected a broader push to integrate emerging technologies into sectors that drive economic growth and global competitiveness.
The meeting was attended by founders and chief executives from Abridge, Adalat AI, BrainSightAI, Credo AI, Eka Care, Glean, Innogle, Invideo, Miko, Origin, Prophaze, Rasen, Rubrik, SatSure, Supernova and Sypha AI. Senior officials including P. K. Mishra, S. Shaktikanta Das and Jitin Prasada were also present.
