Ajit Pawar: The NCP, headed by is open to merging and has chosen to remain collective: Tatkare, the leader of the Maha party
Ajit Pawar: Although he does not personally oppose a merger between the Ajit Pawar camp and the NCP-SP, Maharashtra NCP Chief Sunil Tatkare has said that the party leadership will decide on such a move jointly.

He spoke extensively on the merging of two groups and the strategic change that the Ajit Pawar-led NCP has made since joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Tatkare defended his choice to sign the NDA, pointing out that it had been discussed internally for years. We continue to get criticism for this position, but we are steadfast in our resolve to stick with the NDA,” he said.
Tatkare seemed hesitant when asked whether senior leader Sharad Pawar ought to join the NDA.I am aware of my limits and am not a powerful enough leader to counsel Sharad Pawar on such topics,” he said.
Tatkare underlined that the mood is now localized in response to Ajit Pawar’s recent remarks on a possible merger.
In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, the two NCP groups are running together, but as State NCP President, he has not yet heard any official merger discussions. As President of the NCP, Ajit Pawar is able to express this opinion, but it is now restricted to certain areas, he said.
Tatkare criticized Sanjay Shirsat, the head of the Shiv Sena, for implying that Sharad Pawar would join the NDA.Shirsat is typically spot on, but sometimes he makes mistakes. He said, “His statement lacks the required authority.”
In a similar event, NCP President and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said in an interview with a Marathi station, “Due to the election haste, we haven’t given it much attention yet. Nonetheless, I’ve seen that the employees at the bottom level are content (with the existing partnership). My only point is that in the world of politics, nobody is ever really a friend or an adversary. From that, you may make your own judgments.
In response to a particular question on whether the two NCP groups will formally merge, he said that all attention is now being paid to the elections, but he left the future open.
The reunion of the uncle and nephew, who split up in June 2023, was the subject of a controversy in the state political circle after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s comment.
All eyes are on the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) after the Thackeray brothers’ high-profile rapprochement before of the 29 Municipal Corporation elections.
Because both Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar’s divisions of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have publicly formed a local-level alliance for the upcoming municipal body elections in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, there is a lot of excitement around their reunion right now.
According to political analysts, if the Pawars do the same, Maharashtra’s political landscape will undergo a significant upheaval that would consolidate the Maratha vote bank and change the balance of power in the state.
