Air India Delhi-Mumbai flight: A technical issue causes the Air India Delhi-Mumbai flight to return to IGI Airport shortly after takeoff
Air India Delhi-Mumbai flight: Shortly after takeoff on Monday, December 22, an Air India aircraft was forced to return to Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi. The airline said in a statement that the flight was supposed to go from Delhi to Mumbai.

After takeoff, flight AI887 from Delhi to Mumbai had a mechanical problem, according to an Air India representative cited by news agency ANI. As a result, the aircraft returned to Delhi.
According to the spokeswoman, normal operating procedures (SOPs) were followed when the aircraft touched down in Delhi. Alternative arrangements are being arranged, and all of the staff and passengers are safe and have disembarked.
A few days ago, an Air India Express aircraft carrying 160 people from Jeddah to Kozhikode had to make an emergency landing at Cochin International Airport due to problems with its landing gear and a tire failure, according to an official.
No passengers or crew members were reported injured, and all emergency services were called in advance. Both of the right-side tires had burst, according to a post-landing check, a CIAL official stated.
A malfunction in the right main landing gear caused Air India Express flight IX 398 to be diverted to Kochi as a precaution, according to Cochin International Airport Limited. The runway was cleared and reopened for regular operations after the aircraft made a successful landing under full emergency circumstances at 9:07 am.
Scheduled flights were not further disrupted by the event because officials made sure everything was handled securely and effectively.
