‘Why Long Clarification?’: Priyanka Gandhi Regarding Amit Shah’s Address on Lok Sabha Election Reforms
‘Why Long Clarification?’: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech during the Lok Sabha’s discussion on electoral reforms on Wednesday, saying that his protracted defense of “vote chori” accusations only increased the opposition’s misgivings about the ruling party’s election-related behavior. The Congress MP told reporters, “He has merely clarified that they haven’t done vote chori for the last 1.5 hours. Will someone provide such a lengthy explanation if they are innocent?

Her comments followed Amit Shah’s thorough involvement during the Lok Sabha’s debate on election reforms. Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to hold a debate on his three press conferences related to his claims of “voter chori” earlier today. The Home Minister responded, “Parliament won’t function as per his wish.”
When Rahul Gandhi interrupted HM Shah during his speech to the Lok Sabha on the topic of electoral reforms, the two got into a furious argument. Shah said he had answers for all of the opposition’s accusations, including Gandhi’s three news conferences, and criticized them for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral records.
“The LoP made accusations at his news conference that the voter list needed to be updated. What is SIR, then? Sanitizing the voter list is the process. Even while we are going through the procedure, he is against it. Voter lists have nothing to do with your loss, which is inevitable. In a democracy, double standards are ineffective. When you succeed, EC is fantastic. EC is worthless and acts at the BJP’s request when you lose. During the conversation, Shah said, “I have answers for all of their accusations, including three press conferences.”
Rahul Gandhi interrupted the Home Minister and asked him to argue his three news conferences over the accusations of “vote chori.” “I questioned why Election Commissioners were granted complete immunity yesterday. We’d want to know what they’re thinking. He discussed Haryana (Amit Shah).
He gave one instance. Other instances abound. There are 19 lakh fraudulent voters. Let’s really discuss my press conference. Rahul Gandhi remarked, “I challenge you to debate my three press conferences, Amit Shah ji.”
In response to the LoP’s comments, Shah said that the former should exercise patience and would not choose the sequence of his speech.
“He requested responses to his inquiries from the Leader of the Opposition (LoP). “Your stubbornness will not allow you to lead the parliament.” I’ll choose my speech’s order. This is not how the parliament will operate. He ought to have patience. I’ll respond to every question,” he said. When Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the debate on election changes, opposition members of parliament staged a walkout in the Lower House (Lok Sabha).
Following Shah’s statement, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 11.
