Raj Thackeray: According to Hindi is neither the official language of Bihar or Uttar Pradesh
Raj Thackeray: According to Raj Thackeray, the leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Hindi is neither the official language of Bihar or Uttar Pradesh. The MNS head said at the protest in Mumbai that the people from the northern states should realize that Bhojpuri and Maithili are their native tongues, not Hindi.

Raj Thackeray issued a warning to those from the northern states about forcing Hindi on Maharashtra. He said, “I don’t hate the language… But if you try to impose it, I’ll kick you.”What is causing this deception? According to Babasaheb Ambedkar, states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were established. There, people speak Hindi. Hindi is not your language, people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh should realize. Bihar has Maithili, while Uttar Pradesh has Bhojpuri. Language isn’t a point of contention, but you can’t force it,” Raj Thackeray said.
Raj Thackeray spoke at the Shiv Sena UBT and MNS chief’s combined rally in Mumbai on Friday in preparation for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election that is set for January 15, 2026.
According to him, people are “coming from all sides to Maharashtra and snatching away your share,” and if land and language go, “Marathi Manoos, you will be finished.” This is the last election for Marathi people, he added, and if you miss it, “you will be finished.”
“Unite for Marathi and Maharashtra,” the MNS president said. Mumbai came about as a result of the sacrifices made by many individuals. What are we going to tell them? The BLA (Booth Level Agents) designated at that time should be prepared on election day, he said, therefore MNS employees should be prepared by 6 AM. “Be alert, be vigilant, don’t be careless… If anyone comes to vote again, throw them out,” warned the politician.
