Zelenskyy: begs for assistance while Ukraine asserts Next year, Russia hopes to prolong the conflict
Zelenskyy: the president of Ukraine, claimed to have received indications that Russia was getting ready for war within the next year.

Zelenskyy continued by pleading with its friends for assistance, particularly the US, which insists that Russia wants to end the war.
“Today, we again heard signals from Moscow that they are preparing to make next year a year of war,” he said in a post on X. We are not the only ones who get these messages. It is imperative that our allies notice them and act upon them, particularly our allies in the United States, who often claim that Russia wants to put an end to the conflict.
However, Russia’s signals—which take the form of formal commands to their army—are the complete opposite. It is necessary to acknowledge and respond to this Russian mentality. When Russia has this attitude, it will also damage diplomacy by trying to justify Russia’s land theft and to conceal its goal to destroy Ukraine and Ukrainians via diplomatic language and pressure over certain issues in papers. Then there are other European nations that someone in Russia may eventually refer to as their “historical lands,” he said.
Zelenskyy also requested financial assistance and security measures from Russia.
“We will keep working with all partners to make sure that protection is in place because this Russian case history of craziness requires real protection. There is a need for political, financial, and security measures, including steps against Russian assets. And each partner must have the guts to recognize the reality, accept it, and act appropriately. I express my gratitude to all those who support Ukraine,” he said.
According to Al Jazeera, Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier on Wednesday said that Moscow will accomplish its goals and opposed going to war with the West as the European Union contemplates using Russian funds to finance Ukraine, which is now experiencing its fourth harsh winter.
Putin was described by state media as calling Western demands to prepare for conflict with Russia “hysteria and a lie” at a high-level meeting with Ministry of Defense officials on Wednesday.
He did, however, emphasize that the Kremlin’s military objectives would “undoubtedly” be met, adding that 300 regions had been “liberated” in the previous year, according to Al Jazeera.
In recent weeks, Russia and Ukraine have increased their attacks on each other’s oil refineries and energy facilities.
