US: Amid “atrocities” against Christians in Nigeria, the US denounces radical Islam and plans to restrict visas
US: On Wednesday, US State Secretary Marco Rubio issued a warning about the “imminent threat” to international security posed by radical Islam’s desire to “control more territories and people.” His remarks coincided with allegations of crimes and “mass killings” of Christians in Nigeria by Fulani ethnic militias, radical Islamic terrorists, and other groups.

According to Rubio, the US would take action to restrict visas for anyone who “direct, authorise, fund, or support violence against Christians” in Nigeria and other countries.
“Radical Islam has shown that their desire is not simply to occupy one part of the world and be happy with their own little caliphate; they want to expand. It’s revolutionary in its nature. It seeks to expand and control more territories and more people. That’s a clear and imminent threat to the world and to the broader West, but especially the United States, which they identify as the chief source of evil on the planet,” ANI reported that he had said during an interview with Fox News on Monday.
Radical organizations using terror to seize power
According to the state secretary, these extremist organizations will stop at nothing to achieve their supremacy in all cultures and communities, including terrorism and killings.
“Radical Islam has designs, openly, on the West, on the United States, on Europe. We’ve seen that progress there as well. And they are prepared to conduct acts of terrorism – in the case of Iran, nation-state actions, assassinations, murders, you name it. Whatever it takes for them to gain their influence and ultimately their domination of different cultures and societies,” he continued.
Trump’s threat of “military action” against Nigeria
In response to reports of assaults and murders of Christians in Nigeria, US President Donald Trump has warned that Washington would take military action against the nation.
The announcement followed US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s social media post on Friday claiming to have met with Nigeria’s National Security Advisor, Nuhu Ribadu, and his team to address “horrific violence” against Christians in their nation.
