Casualties Reported in Poltava Region

In central Ukraine, the Poltava region witnessed significant destruction following the overnight assault. Local authorities confirmed that residential areas and a hotel building were hit during the strikes, triggering fires and structural damage.

Vitali Dyakivnych, head of the regional military administration, stated that emergency teams were quickly deployed to the affected areas. Initially, officials reported two fatalities and seven injuries, but the number of wounded was later revised to eleven as more victims were identified.

Emergency responders continued search and rescue operations throughout the morning, working to extinguish fires and assess the full extent of the damage to civilian infrastructure.

Zaporizhzhia Hit by Combined Missile and Drone Assault

Further south, the Zaporizhzhia region faced what officials described as a large-scale coordinated attack involving both missiles and drones. Regional administration head Ivan Fedorov confirmed that one person was killed in the strike, while at least five others sustained injuries.

According to local reports, the attack caused damage to multiple residential and commercial properties. Six apartment buildings and two private homes were affected, along with a retail outlet and several non-residential structures. An industrial facility also suffered damage, raising concerns about potential disruptions to local economic activity.

Authorities indicated that the number of casualties could rise as assessments continue and more information becomes available.

Nationwide Air Raid Alerts Issued

Air raid alerts were activated across nearly the entire country during the night, with the exception of the Odesa region. Residents in multiple cities were urged to seek shelter as Ukrainian air defense systems responded to incoming threats.

The widespread nature of the alerts highlights the scale and coordination of the attack, which appears to have targeted both urban centers and critical infrastructure.

Warning Preceded the Overnight Assault

The strikes came shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, warning of a potential escalation. In his daily televised message, Zelensky noted that intelligence sources had indicated Russia might be preparing for a significant offensive involving aerial attacks.

His warning now appears to have aligned with the events that unfolded just hours later, underscoring ongoing concerns about the intensity of the conflict and the continued threat to civilian areas.

Ongoing Impact on Civilian Life

The latest wave of attacks adds to the growing toll on Ukraine’s civilian population, with repeated strikes affecting homes, businesses, and essential services. Local authorities continue to urge residents to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols during air raid alerts.

Emergency services across the affected regions remain on high alert, as officials work to restore normalcy while preparing for the possibility of further strikes.

The situation remains fluid, with Ukrainian officials closely monitoring developments and coordinating response efforts across multiple regions.
