Trump : claims that only US markets allow China to purchase oil
Trump: President Donald Trump framed the decision as part of a larger attempt to increase US influence over global energy flows when he announced that China would only be allowed to buy oil from the US or from markets under Washington’s control.

Trump said Beijing would have to purchase Venezuelan oil via US-approved channels and would no longer be able to get it on its own during comments at the White House after a meeting with oil and gas entrepreneurs.
Trump told reporters, “China can buy all the oil they want from us there or in the United States.”
According to him, the policy included both supply coming from inside the US and oil produced in Venezuela under agreements approved by the US.
“China and Russia and everyone else is able to go,” Trump said, adding that Washington will establish the terms for acquisitions.
Trump said that after years of unrest and sanctions, the decision was made to stop China from gaining a strategic foothold in Venezuela.
“China would have been there if we hadn’t done this,” Trump said. “And Russia would have been present.”
He said that foreign rule was intolerable in Venezuela because of its closeness to the US.
“If you think about it, this is kind of a next-door neighbor,” Trump said.
Trump said that Washington had communicated to Beijing its inability to accept Chinese influence or control over Venezuela’s oil resources.
Trump said, “I told China, and I told Russia, we get along with you very well.” “We really like you. You are not welcome there.
According to him, the new structure would guarantee US strategic superiority while enabling China to continue supplying its energy demands.
Trump said, “We are open for business almost immediately.”
The president said that US economic and military activities had forced a realignment of global oil access and altered the balance of power in Venezuela.
“China and Russia would have been there if we hadn’t done this, and perhaps they would have been there together,” Trump said.
According to Trump, the conditions under which Venezuelan oil would reach international markets were now under American control.
“We have the authority to reach that agreement,” he said.
Under American protection, he added, U.S. oil corporations will restore Venezuela’s energy infrastructure, removing the circumstances that previously let oil to flow to what he called “bad actors.”
During the discussion, Energy Secretary Chris Wright said, “Those sanctions were not enforced.” “That oil simply drifted out.”
Trump said that by putting US control over production, refinement, and distribution, the new strategy will avoid such results.
Trump said, “We’re going to be working with Venezuela.” “You are interacting directly with us.”
He made it clear that China will have economic, not strategic, access to oil.
In reference to China, Trump said, “They need a lot of oil.” “Russia doesn’t require a lot.”
According to Trump, the US was ready to provide energy on a large scale.
He said, “We are the world’s most energy-dominant nation.”
He said that while strengthening US dominance, the agreement will also help cut oil prices worldwide.
Trump said, “This results in many jobs for Americans and lower taxes.”
Trump said the strategy reflected economic reality rather than conflict, rejecting claims that limiting China’s access would increase tensions.
Trump said, “I like China.” “I like the Chinese people.”
According to him, the framework made sure that the relationship was characterized by energy commerce rather than geopolitical antagonism.
According to Trump, “we are open for business in Venezuela and in the United States.”
As the biggest oil importer in the world, China has traditionally purchased petroleum from a variety of sources, including Venezuela.
