Trump : claims that Greenland will belong to the US
Trump: Greenland will be acquired by the United States, according to President Donald Trump, who cautioned that failing to do so would enable China or Russia to seize control of the vital Arctic region.

“China or Russia will take Greenland if we don’t,” Trump warned reporters on Air Force One. “And I will not allow that to occur.”
Trump claimed that the result was unavoidable even though he said that he desired a negotiated solution. Making a deal with them is something I would really want to do. It’s simpler,” he said. “But we’re going to have Greenland one way or another.”
Trump said that the US was concentrating on ownership when asked whether military action was being considered. “We’re discussing buying, not renting, and not possessing it for a short time. “We’re discussing acquiring,” he said.
He downplayed worries that doing so would jeopardize NATO. Trump said that he was the one who rescued NATO and that its members were now contributing “5% of GDP.”
Greenland’s present defenses were minimized by Trump. He contrasted the existence of “Chinese and Russian destroyers and submarines everywhere” with the fact that “basically, their defense is two dog sleds.”
He claimed that the US military’s presence was inadequate on its own. “You must take responsibility. As they say in the real estate industry, you really need a title,” Trump said.
Trump denied that Denmark had received a formal offer when asked. He said, “Greenland should make the deal, but I haven’t done that.”
Denmark’s independent region of Greenland is strategically significant because of its Arctic position and closeness to new trade lanes and military routes.
The US already has a military presence in Greenland, and as Chinese and Russian engagement in the area has escalated, concerns about Arctic security have grown.
