Russia : reiterates its opposition to “Taiwan independence” in whatever form
Russian : Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Russia rejects any kind of “Taiwan independence” and acknowledges Taiwan as an integral part of China.
According to the ministry’s statement provided to Xinhua, some nations support preserving the status quo while professing to support the one-China concept, which is in opposition to the idea of China’s national reunification.
According to the ministry cited by the Xinhua news agency, certain nations are presently using the Taiwan issue as a tool of strategic and military containment against China.
It said that China has every right to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity and that Russia’s principled stance on the Taiwan issue is well-known, unaltered, and has been confirmed at the highest level on many occasions.
In the meanwhile, China is developing the military capacity to capture Taiwan and hopes to be prepared for conflict by 2027, according to a US Defense Department assessment presented to Congress.
The People’s Liberation Army has made “steady progress” toward its 2027 objectives, according to the report. Achieving a “strategic decisive victory” against Taiwan is one of such objectives.
According to the research, China aligns its military strategies with those of the United States. Washington is seen by the PLA as the “strong enemy” that it needs to be able to overcome.
Beijing has also changed its approach to Taiwan. According to the study, China is no longer only concerned in preventing independence. Rather, it puts Taipei under “near constant pressure” to compel unification on Beijing’s terms.
Information efforts, economic actions, diplomacy, and military action are all part of this pressure. These instruments are intended to lessen Taiwan’s resistance when used in tandem.
