PM Modi : lists three crucial areas to strengthen bilateral relations with Ethiopia: capacity development, food and health security, and DPI

A strategic partnership between Ethiopia and India has been made possible by PM Modi’s talks with Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed Ali.

To increase Ethiopia’s food security, the leaders decided to strengthen collaboration in agri-tech, natural farming, and sustainable agriculture. Initiatives to increase capacity include tripling student subsidies and launching new artificial intelligence programs, which will make it possible for more Ethiopian students to pursue studies in India.

Innovation and expansion are the goals of the Digital Public Infrastructure partnership. With an emphasis on reciprocal growth and development, these agreements demonstrate the expanding connection between Ethiopia and India.

PM Modi was escorted to the National Palace Museum by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.

At Addis Ababa’s National Palace, PM Modi was formally welcomed.

“Received a ceremonial welcome at the National Palace in Addis Ababa,” he said in an X post. The long-standing alliance between Ethiopia and India is being strengthened with this visit.

Agreements on tailored collaboration, the creation of a data center, and UN peacekeeping training were among the visit’s major results.

To further demonstrate their collaboration on economic matters, India and Ethiopia recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding on debt restructuring within the G20 Common Framework. ITEC’s specialized AI courses and quadrupled ICCR funding for Ethiopian students helped to promote educational interactions.

PM Modi began his two-day visit to Ethiopia on Tuesday. At the airport, he was welcomed with open arms.
