Iran – Iran’s state broadcaster has released what it says is previously unseen footage of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, offering a rare glimpse into his earlier public life. The video, aired by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), shows him teaching religious studies to a group of attentive students. Officials did not specify when the recording was made, but confirmed it had not been shared publicly before.
State Media Publishes Rare Visual Record
According to IRIB, the footage marks the first time such material featuring Mojtaba Khamenei has been made available to the public. In the clip, he appears in a classroom-like setting, speaking to students engaged in religious learning. The release comes at a time when attention on Iran’s leadership has intensified following recent political and military developments.
Leadership Change After Fatal Strike
Mojtaba Khamenei assumed the role of Supreme Leader after the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in a US military strike on February 28 at the age of 86. The leadership transition occurred amid heightened tensions in the region.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for a new wave of strikes targeting areas in Israel, including Tel Aviv, as well as US military installations in the region. These claims were reported by Iranian-linked media outlets.
In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that missiles had been launched toward Israeli territory. Air defence systems were activated to intercept the incoming threats.
