Iran: Amid a crackdown on anti-regime protests, plans to hang a demonstrator
Iran: More violence is expected in Iran as the government planned to put its first protester to death on Wednesday, while anti-regime demonstrators were arrested in large numbers, according to the New York Post, which cited human rights organizations.

According to the Iran Human Rights (IHR) and National Union for Democracy in Iran (NUFD) NGO organizations, 26-year-old Erfan Soltani is slated to be hung to death after his detention during the demonstrations in Karaj last Thursday (local time).
According to the NUFD, the man’s “only crime is calling for freedom for Iran.”
In order to prevent Soltani’s hanging, NUFD is also urging international assistance. According to the New York Post, he is purportedly unable to get legal counsel to defend himself. The demonstrator is accused of “waging war against God,” a felony that carries a death sentence in Iran.
At the conclusion of the seventeenth day, 614 protest meetings had been reported nationally, according to a report released Monday by the Human Rights Activists News Agency. All 31 of the nation’s provinces were represented in these protests, which occurred in 187 cities. It has been established that 18,434 people have been detained. Additionally, the government said that 2,403 demonstrators had been verified dead. Twelve youngsters (those under the age of eighteen) have been identified among those slain. At least five civilian government sympathizers are among the 147 members of the security forces and government allies who have been slain.
Reza Pahlavi, the exiled crown prince, appealed to protestors and the nation’s military forces on Tuesday (local time) amid the ongoing demonstrations, saying that the world is “taking action” in addition to seeing and hearing the demonstrators’ bravery and voice.
He cautioned that those who commit acts of violence would ultimately be held accountable and encouraged people to continue the campaign against the Khamenei dictatorship. Pahlavi said in a video message posted on X that US President Donald Trump had addressed the demonstrations and that Iranians’ opinions were being heard outside of Iran.
“My compatriots, as I told you in my previous message, the world not only saw and heard your courage and voice but is taking action,” he added, speaking directly to demonstrators. I’m sure you’ve heard the President of the United States’ message by now. There will be assistance soon.
US President Donald Trump said earlier in the day that he was thinking about Iran and that he was informed about the regime’s crackdown on protesters. We will examine all aspects of the current Iranian scenario. awful things. However, when I witness the type of death that is occurring there, I think of Iran. During his press conference at Joint Base Andrews, he said, “We’re going to get some accurate numbers as to what’s happening with regard to the killing.”
