Vadra cited Bangladesh’s ruthless murder of religious minorities.

“The news of the brutal murder by a mob of Hindu youth Deepu Chandra Das in Bangladesh is extremely alarming,” she said in a post on X. Discrimination, assault, and murder on the basis of religion, caste, identity, etc. are crimes against humanity in any civilized community. In light of the increasing violence against Hindu, Christian, and Buddhist minority in the neighboring nation, the Indian government need to bring up the matter of their protection with the Bangladeshi government.

Piyush Hazarika, the Assamese government’s spokesperson, denounced the savage crime.

“The horrifying lyn*hing of Dipu Chandra Das, only 90 km from the border of Assam, is a tragedy,” he wrote in a post on X. We pray for his Sadgati and vehemently condemn the savage act of publicly burning a man alive. Additionally, this episode serves as a clear warning of the risks associated with changing demographics. We’ve seen how misinformation and targeted threats can turn into actual acts of violence. Given that Hindus are increasingly becoming a minority in several of the region’s districts, safeguarding our people, culture, and territorial integrity has become a top national concern. Vigilance, awareness, and action are all more crucial since Assam is perched on a ticking time bomb.

Hazarika made the remarks in response to a post about the event made by a journalist.

The violent killing of a young Hindu man called Dipu Chandra Das in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, Bangladesh, has been harshly denounced by the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council.

“A bunch of miscreants viciously beat to death a textile worker named Dipu Chandra Das yesterday (18 December) at around 9:00 p.m. in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, on the grounds of alleged blasphemy. The biggest minority group in Bangladesh released a statement saying, “They then hung his body from a tree and set it on fire, provoking actions that undermine communal harmony.”

Inqilab Moncho asked people to abstain from violence, vandalism, and arson as demonstrations swept the nation in the wake of Osman Hadi’s passing.
