Celebration on the Sets of Raawadi

The production house, Seven Screen Studios, shared photographs from the informal event on its official social media page. The images captured Akshay Kumar cutting a cake surrounded by members of the Raawadi team. The studio described the gathering as a tribute to Sirai completing 50 days in cinemas, underscoring the film’s steady performance at the box office.

Both Sirai and Raawadi are produced by S S Lalit Kumar under the Seven Screen Studios banner, making the occasion particularly meaningful for the team. Industry observers note that reaching the 50-day mark remains a noteworthy accomplishment in today’s competitive theatrical landscape.

Strong Word of Mouth and Industry Praise

Sirai, a police drama rooted in real-life events, received appreciation from a wide spectrum of viewers. Its storytelling and performances earned praise from several prominent personalities in the film and sports communities. Filmmaker Shankar and cricketers Ravichandran Ashwin and Dinesh Karthik were among those who publicly lauded the film after its release.

The film’s reception reflected both critical approval and audience support, contributing to its sustained run in theatres. Trade analysts attribute its success to consistent word of mouth and the emotional depth of its narrative.

A Gesture of Appreciation Before Release

Even before Sirai reached cinemas, producer S S Lalit Kumar had expressed immense confidence in director Suresh Rajakumari’s work. Impressed by the final cut of the film, the producer presented the director with a brand-new car ahead of its theatrical debut.

The vehicle was formally handed over to the director’s mother at a pre-release event organized by the production team. The ceremony was attended by members of the film fraternity and media representatives. The key was presented during the function in the presence of noted filmmaker Vetrimaaran, who has been a mentor to Suresh Rajakumari. The gesture was widely viewed within the industry as a mark of appreciation for the director’s dedication and craft.

Story and Technical Team Behind Sirai

The storyline of Sirai was written by director Tamizh, who is known for his earlier critically acclaimed film Taanakaran. Sources close to the production indicated that the narrative drew inspiration from personal experiences and real incidents, lending authenticity to the screenplay.

Suresh Rajakumari, who has previously worked as a co-director with Vetrimaaran, both wrote and directed the project. The film’s technical team included music composer Justin Prabhakaran, cinematographer Madesh Manickam, and editor Philomin Raj. Action sequences were choreographed by stunt master Prabhu, while Arun K and Manikandan served as executive producers. Their combined efforts were instrumental in shaping the film’s tone and visual impact.

Raawadi Nears Completion

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has shifted focus to Raawadi, a bilingual comedy entertainer directed by Vignesh Vadivel. The film is being shot simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam under the same title. Malayalam actor Basil Joseph stars alongside Akshay Kumar in the lead roles.

According to the production team, filming is progressing at a brisk pace and has entered its final stages. A teaser released earlier introduced Basil Joseph’s character, Abbas, while Akshay Kumar appears as Prabhu in what is described as a full-length commercial entertainer.

With Sirai completing a successful run and Raawadi approaching completion, Seven Screen Studios appears to be building steady momentum. For Akshay Kumar and the creative team involved, the recent celebration was not just about a milestone but also a reminder of the collaborative effort behind every film that reaches audiences.
