Entertainment – Television actor Rupali Ganguly recently opened up about a memorable incident from her childhood involving the late Bollywood legend Rishi Kapoor during a visit to the Vaishno Devi shrine. A Childhood Encounter That Left a Mark
Recalling the experience, Rupali said she and her brother Vijay Ganguly were riding horses on their way up to the temple when they crossed paths with Rishi Kapoor, who was walking down. His reaction, she remembered vividly, caught them off guard.
According to Rupali, the veteran actor questioned why they were riding instead of walking and urged them to get down immediately. His firm tone, she admitted, frightened them at the time. The moment stayed with her as a reminder of Kapoor’s disciplined outlook, even in casual encounters.

Rupali also spoke about another visit to the shrine that coincided with the shooting of her father Anil Ganguly’s film. She mentioned that the production of Pyaar Ke Kabil was underway during that time, with arrangements reportedly managed by music producer Gulshan Kumar.
The film featured a notable cast, including Rishi Kapoor, Padmini Kolhapure, Utpal Dutt, and Bindu. Rupali recalled that the climax sequence was filmed at the location over several days. During the shoot, the team would often eat at the langar near the temple premises.
She further noted that Rishi Kapoor chose to walk to the shrine each time, avoiding the use of horses or palanquins, reflecting his personal discipline and simplicity.

Beyond professional memories, Rupali described Vaishno Devi as a place of strong emotional and spiritual importance in her life. She shared that she revisited the shrine in 2000 with her husband Ashwin and has continued to feel a deep connection to the site ever since.
