In an interview with Filmygyan, Shararat song choreographer Vijay Ganguly declared his wish to cast Tamannaah Bhatia in the song. But director Aditya Dhar declined the invitation. “She was (the one) in my mind. Aditya made it very apparent that he did not want what is known as an item song—something that deviated from the plot—even though I had recommended her. It would have detracted from the narrative if it had just been about one girl.

Since the song wasn’t supposed to be about just one individual, the choreographer for Shararat said that it included two ladies. The choreographer pointed out that the song was simply meant to be a song and not to distract from the busy movie. Had it been Tamannaah, the song would have focused entirely on her instead of the story.

“There are two daughters instead of just one because of this. He didn’t want this one individual to be the center of attention. It wouldn’t have been about the tale if it had been about Tamannaah.”Jo ho raha tha film mein, there was a lot going on, and if you go away from the story, then the song is just a cut-to song,” he said.
