Look Out Circular Issued Against Gang Member

According to officials, the Crime Branch has initiated action against Harry Boxer, a known associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The alert was issued after a threatening voice message demanding Rs 20 crore was sent to Singh’s manager from an international number. Law enforcement agencies confirmed that the voice in the message was identified as Boxer’s following verification by Punjab and Haryana Police.

Authorities believe Boxer, who hails from Rajasthan, is currently based in Canada. The Look Out Circular aims to prevent him from entering or leaving the country undetected and strengthens efforts to track his movements internationally.

Threat Messages and Extortion Demand

The complaint in the case was filed by Vijay Subramanian, the actor’s manager and founder of Collective Artists Network. In his statement to police, Subramanian said he received multiple calls on February 10 from an overseas number beginning with the country code +340. The code is reportedly associated with the Virgin Islands.

When the calls initially went unanswered, the caller allegedly sent three separate voice notes. In those recordings, the individual identified himself as Harry Boxer and demanded Rs 20 crore, warning of consequences if the demand was not met.

Police sources confirmed that the threatening messages were examined and verified before further legal steps were taken.

FIR Registered by Cyber Police

Following the complaint, the South Region Cyber Cell of Mumbai Police registered a First Information Report on February 17. The Anti-Extortion Cell has joined the investigation, and both units are coordinating to trace the origin of the calls and gather digital evidence.

Officials stated that technical analysis of the international number is ongoing. Cyber experts are examining call records, digital footprints, and possible routing methods used to conceal the caller’s location.

Security Around Actor Increased

In response to the verified threat, security arrangements around Ranveer Singh’s residence have been strengthened. Police have also advised the actor to exercise caution during public appearances and while traveling for film shoots.

The development comes shortly after an unrelated firing incident on February 1 at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s bungalow in Juhu, which had already raised concerns about safety in the film industry. While investigators have not formally linked the two incidents, the timing has added to heightened vigilance among authorities.

Ongoing Investigation

Mumbai Police officials have emphasized that the case is being treated with seriousness given the involvement of an organized crime network. Coordination with other state police units and central agencies is underway to determine Boxer’s exact location and examine whether others were involved in facilitating the threat.

Law enforcement agencies are also exploring international cooperation channels, as the suspect is believed to be operating from outside India. Officials reiterated that any attempt to intimidate or extort public figures would be dealt with firmly under the law.

The investigation remains active, and authorities have assured that appropriate legal action will follow based on evidence gathered.
