Adivi Sesh: Seeing the Pakistani side of the 26/11 strikes in Dhurandhar was a novel experience
Adivi Sesh: seems to be smitten with the just released hit “Dhurandhar,” even as he prepares for the debut of his next movie, “Dacoit.”
The actor-director was asked whether “Dhurandhar” did justice to the issue of 26/11 during the trailer launch of “Dacoit” in Mumbai, given that his own film “Major” is based on Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who bravely battled against the terrorist and was slain in action.
“I even tweeted about the film,” Adivi Sesh said to the press. The filmmaker, Aditya, is a close buddy. I believed that I had studied 26/11 and the Black Tornado operation in great detail. However, even for me, learning about the Pakistani perspective was novel. It’s a remarkable movie, in my opinion. It really deserves to be the greatest movie in India right now.
“I am really proud that people are watching the film, the proper word of mouth hit,” he said. The crowd is really interested in seeing the movie. Aditya has a very unique set of values. I believe my family and I will watch it again tomorrow.
The film “Major,” which was written by Sesh and directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, follows Unnikrishnan’s life from his early years and interpersonal interactions to his choice to enlist in the army and his heroic courage throughout the terrible siege. The movie was concurrently filmed in Hindi and Telugu, with a Malayalam dub. Mahesh Babu’s G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment and Sony Pictures International Productions produced it.
It was praised by critics for its realistic portrayal of bravery in the face of adversity, emotional impact, and performances, particularly those of Adivi Sesh. With a global box office total of about ₹64–66 crore, the film was a financial triumph and one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2022.
In the meanwhile, “Dhurandhar” is a box office hit. The movie chronicles the life of an Indian spy who infiltrates Pakistani criminal and organized crime networks. It gives a fictionalized narrative of how terrorist acts in India are caused by the ISI and the Pakistani mafia working together.
The movie has strengthened the Hindi film industry’s economy after a respectable number of blockbusters and superhits this year. In the Indian spy-thriller genre, it ushers in a new age.
