The price of domestic LPG cylinders has been raised by Rs 60, prompting reactions from families in cities including Delhi, parts of Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Households Feel Pressure From Rising Cooking Gas Costs
Several residents in Delhi expressed worry about the impact of the price revision on routine household spending. Cooking gas, they said, remains one of the most essential utilities in every home, and the price increase is likely to be felt immediately.
Anupama, a Delhi resident, noted that global developments may be contributing to the rise in energy prices. She said international conflicts and supply disruptions could influence fuel markets worldwide, particularly because many countries depend on energy exports from the Gulf region.
According to her, while the situation may be shaped by international factors, many people hope authorities will find ways to ease the burden on consumers. She added that cooperation between the public and government could be important during challenging economic periods.
Another resident, Ashu Sharma, emphasized the central role LPG plays in everyday life. He pointed out that nearly every household depends on cooking gas to prepare meals, making it a basic necessity rather than a discretionary expense.

Similar concerns were echoed in Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, where a businessman said the continuing rise in prices is affecting everyday life for many people.
He explained that ongoing global tensions and economic pressures appear to be influencing the cost of essential goods. According to him, the situation is challenging because many families are facing higher expenses while their incomes remain limited.
Residents in Ayodhya also reported difficulties linked to the higher cost of cooking gas. Some said that along with the price increase, they occasionally face issues related to supply or affordability.
One resident noted that despite the price hike, families have little choice but to continue purchasing LPG cylinders because there are few practical alternatives for cooking at home.
Another person from the city pointed out that even a relatively small increase in price can significantly affect household budgets over time. Everyday tasks such as cooking meals become more expensive when the cost of fuel rises.
Calls for Support for Vulnerable Households
Some residents also suggested that additional support could help economically weaker families cope with the rising cost of essential commodities.
One Ayodhya resident said that as the prices of several daily necessities continue to increase, many households are finding it difficult to manage their finances. Assistance targeted at vulnerable groups, the resident added, could help reduce the financial strain.
Workers in Mumbai Highlight Broader Cost Challenges
In Mumbai, a woman spoke about the broader challenges families are facing amid rising prices. She explained that irregular wages or delays in payment can make it particularly difficult for households to manage daily expenses.
According to her, the cost of vegetables, cooking gas, and other essential items has steadily increased in recent months. Without regular income, she said, families struggle to maintain basic household needs such as preparing meals and managing day-to-day expenses.
The recent LPG price increase has therefore become part of a larger conversation about the rising cost of living. For many families across India, cooking gas remains indispensable, and changes in its price are closely linked to the financial stability of everyday households.
