The current EV policy has already been extended many times since it was first implemented in August 2020 for a three-year period. According to media sources, the government intends to introduce a new program starting in the next fiscal year since the current policy has not been able to increase EV sales.

According to media sources, the government is anticipated to provide a 50% subsidy in order to increase EV sales in the nation’s capital. In order to lower the cost of EVs, the government will provide further discounts and a scrappage incentive, according to the X article.

The improvement of the national capital’s charging network was also brought up by the chief minister. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s X post emphasizes that a new battery swapping mechanism would improve the public charging infrastructure. Additionally, the letter notes that new charging infrastructure would be installed in the colonies and public areas.
