According to several residents, the problem began in early February and has continued without any consistent resolution. People relying heavily on stable internet connections for professional and personal needs say the interruptions have significantly affected their routines.

Deb, a resident of Gulshan Ikebana in Sector 143, described the situation as exhausting. He noted that internet connectivity drops frequently for extended periods, often lasting five to six hours at a stretch. Such disruptions have made it increasingly difficult for residents to carry out their daily work, especially those working remotely.

Construction Work Suspected Behind Cable Damage

Local sources suggest that the outages may be linked to ongoing sewer construction work in the vicinity. Heavy machinery, particularly JCB equipment, is reportedly damaging underground internet cables during excavation activities. Each instance of cable damage results in prolonged service interruptions, leaving entire residential clusters without connectivity for hours.

Despite these concerns, there has been no official clarification from either Airtel or the Noida Authority regarding the issue. Residents say the lack of communication has added to their frustration, as they remain uncertain about when the problem will be permanently resolved.

Work-From-Home Professionals Hit Hard

For individuals working from home, the situation has been especially challenging. Rashmi, who lives in a nearby housing society, said her work schedule has been severely affected by the recurring outages. She explained that her job depends entirely on a stable internet connection, and the frequent disruptions have made it difficult to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.

She also pointed out that Airtel had previously been considered a dependable service provider, which makes the current situation even more disappointing. With no immediate resolution in sight, she is now considering switching to another provider to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.

Residents Demand Better Coordination

Several residents have questioned why the telecom provider and local authorities have not coordinated effectively to prevent such recurring issues. Many believe that better planning and communication between Airtel and the Noida Authority could help avoid repeated cable damage and ensure consistent service delivery.

The lack of proactive measures has led to growing dissatisfaction among users, who expect quicker responses and long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes.

Previous Outages Raise Concerns

This is not the first time Airtel users in the Delhi-NCR region have faced connectivity issues. Last year, customers across Delhi and nearby areas reported widespread service disruptions, including problems with voice calls, messaging, and internet access. Some users even reported complete signal loss during that period.

The company had then acknowledged the issue and stated that its technical teams were working to restore services. While connectivity was eventually reinstated, the recurrence of such problems has raised concerns among users about service reliability.

Growing Shift Toward Alternative Providers

As the disruptions continue, more residents are exploring other internet service options. The repeated outages, combined with the absence of clear communication from service providers, have weakened customer confidence.

Unless a permanent solution is implemented soon, the situation may lead to a noticeable shift in customer preference toward competing broadband providers in the region.
