Security – Bihar Man Arrested for Alleged Threat to PM Safety
Security – A man from Bihar’s Buxar district has been taken into custody after allegedly attempting to contact a foreign intelligence agency online, claiming he could compromise the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in return for financial gain, according to police officials.

Arrest and Seizure of Digital Evidence
The accused, identified as Amal Kumar Tiwari, a resident of Simri, was arrested late Thursday night following a preliminary inquiry. Law enforcement teams conducted a search at his residence, where they recovered a laptop, multiple mobile phones, and other electronic devices believed to be connected to the case. These items are currently being examined for further evidence.
Officials stated that the arrest was made after authorities received inputs regarding suspicious online activity linked to Tiwari. His digital footprint reportedly raised concerns due to the nature of communication he attempted to establish.
Alleged Contact with Foreign Agency
Investigators revealed that Tiwari had posted a message on the website of a United States-based intelligence agency. In the message, he allegedly offered to provide sensitive assistance in breaching the Prime Minister’s security arrangements in exchange for monetary compensation.
Authorities are treating the matter with seriousness due to its potential implications for national security. While the exact nature of the claimed access remains unclear, officials confirmed that no actual breach occurred.
Use of VPNs and Dark Web Access
During the examination of his devices, police discovered that Tiwari had installed several Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and applications typically associated with accessing restricted or anonymous parts of the internet, including the dark web. These tools are often used to conceal online identity and location.
Cyber experts assisting in the investigation are analyzing whether these tools were actively used for illegal activities or merely installed without significant use. Officials noted that the presence of such applications has added another layer to the inquiry.
Fake Documents and Past Record
In addition to digital equipment, police recovered what they described as forged identity documents from Tiwari’s possession. These documents are suspected to have been used in cyber-related offenses, though authorities are still verifying their extent of use.
Police sources also indicated that Tiwari had previously been named in a case involving a threat to hack the website of Kolkata airport. This earlier record is now being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation to establish any pattern of behavior.
Interrogation and Ongoing Probe
During questioning, Tiwari reportedly admitted to sending the message. However, officials emphasized that the investigation is still in progress and that all claims are being carefully verified.
Central agencies have joined the probe to assess any broader implications, particularly in relation to cybersecurity and potential foreign links. Authorities are also working to determine whether Tiwari acted alone or had any form of external assistance.
Officials reiterated that there is no immediate threat to the Prime Minister’s security and that all necessary precautions remain in place. The case is being handled with coordination between local police and national security agencies to ensure a thorough examination.
