Ritesh Pandey is leaving the Jan Suraaj Party.
In a post on X, Pandey said that despite the unfavorable election results, he had no regrets for joining the Jan Suraaj Party as a “responsible Indian” and engaging in the political process honestly.

He said that he now hopes to go on helping others via his career, which has brought him a great deal of respect, love, and devotion. “Well, I must now continue to serve all of you via the same labor that has brought me this far—through which you have lavished me with love, respect, and devotion as a humble lad from a small farming family. And because it is very difficult to achieve this while actively participating in any political organization, I am leaving from the Jan Suraaj organization today.”I’ve made an effort to put my ideas into a few words. “I hope everyone will comprehend,” he continued.

In July 2025, Ritesh Pandey joined Jan Suraaj.
Pandey entered active politics when he officially joined the Jan Suraaj Party in front of Prashant Kishor, the party’s founder. However, the singer-turned-politician has chosen to leave party politics in the wake of the election results.

Only a few months before the Bihar Assembly elections, in July 2025, he had joined the Jan Suraaj Party. On a Jan Suraj ticket, he ran for office from the Kargahar Assembly seat in the Rohtas district of Bihar, but lost. Vashishtha Singh, a JDU candidate, won the seat with a margin of 35,676 votes.
