Lalu: Following the electoral drubbing shows reconciliation by attending Tej Pratap’s Sankranti feast
Lalu: On Wednesday, months after kicking his older son Tej Pratap Yadav out of the party and cutting off all personal connections, RJD president Lalu Prasad went to a Makar Sankranti feast at his home.

Yadav saw his parents and younger brother Tejashwi on Tuesday night and invited them to the ‘dahi-chura’ (curd and flattened rice) feast. Yadav formed the Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) after the expulsion.
But the only person who showed up at Yadav’s house was Prasad, who is in his late 70s and stays inside due to several health issues.
Although Prasad did not answer any questions from reporters, the visit raised doubts about whether it represented a reconciliation within the family, which has been attempting to recover from the trauma of a humiliating loss in the most recent assembly elections.
In May of last year, Yadav was ejected from the RJD by Prasad, who further said that he “shall have nothing to do with the family.”
He had expressed disapproval of his older son’s behavior in public, stating that his “irresponsible behaviour” was “not in consonance with the values of my family.”
The expulsion occurred one day after Yadav claimed on social media that, despite being married and having a divorce suit pending in a family court, he had been “in a relationship for 12 years” with a lady.
But a few hours later, he removed the message, saying on X that his Facebook profile had been “hacked.”
Yadav created the JJD and put up candidates for a number of seats in the run-up to the assembly elections, but each one lost their deposits.
On Tuesday, Yadav sparked rumors by attending a similar feast that Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha was hosting.
Neither politician addressed rumors that Yadav will join the BJP-led NDA.
In addition to Prasad, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan was present at Yadav’s home for the feast.
Senior JD(U) leader Ratnesh Sada held a feast that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and several ministers attended.
In the meanwhile, Sinha said, “They are, after all, family,” when questioned about Prasad’s visit to Yadav’s home. On a joyous event, when people are known to momentarily forget their differences, how can they not be together?”
Additionally, Sinha aimed his weapons at Tejashwi, the opposition leader, who was noticeably absent from the new assembly’s December first session. The BJP leader made fun of the RJD heir apparent, who had been absent from the state for more than a month, by saying, “I would advise him to spend less time on vacations abroad.”
