Elections – Political activity in Bihar gained fresh momentum on Sunday after posters appeared at multiple locations across Patna demanding that Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader and Union minister Chirag Paswan be appointed as the state’s next chief minister. Posters Across Patna Spark Political Conversation

The posters displayed across several areas of the state capital carried clear messages supporting Paswan for the top post in Bihar. They included slogans emphasizing stability and peace, stating that the state needed a young leader to guide its future. One of the key lines on the posters read that Bihar required leadership without riots or violence and suggested that Chirag Paswan should be the chief minister.

Another message highlighted Paswan’s political association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing him as a trusted supporter. The posters suggested that a new phase of leadership should begin in the state and urged that the next government should be led by Paswan.

According to local party representatives, the posters were put up by Imam Ghazali, the district president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in Sheikhpura. The appearance of these posters quickly became a talking point among political observers and party workers across the state.

Speculation After Nitish Kumar’s Possible Rajya Sabha Move

The posters surfaced at a time when speculation is growing over Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s political future. Reports indicating that Kumar could move to the Rajya Sabha have triggered discussions about who might lead the state government if such a transition takes place.

While no official announcement has been made regarding a leadership change, the possibility has fueled debates within political circles in Bihar. Several leaders within the ruling alliance are believed to be potential contenders if the position becomes vacant.

BJP Leaders Also Mentioned in Leadership Discussions

Apart from Chirag Paswan, the names of several Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have also been mentioned in political discussions about the chief minister’s post. Among them, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Union minister Nityanand Rai are frequently cited as possible candidates.

Both leaders hold significant influence within the BJP’s organizational structure in Bihar and have played active roles in the state’s political landscape. However, party leadership has not publicly indicated any preferred candidate, and discussions remain largely speculative at this stage.

Political analysts note that the final decision on leadership would depend on consultations within the National Democratic Alliance, which currently forms the ruling coalition in the state.

Earlier Support from Family and Party Members

The call for Chirag Paswan to become chief minister has also been voiced earlier by members of his family. His mother, Rajkumari Devi, previously expressed the hope that her son would one day lead Bihar as chief minister.

She had stated in public remarks that Paswan could provide effective leadership and suggested that he might perform strongly in the role if given the opportunity.

Leaders from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) have also periodically indicated their support for Paswan’s leadership in the state. Their statements reflect the party’s broader ambition to expand its political role in Bihar.

Changing Political Signals in Bihar

Before the current round of speculation began, leaders of Paswan’s party had supported Nitish Kumar’s continuation as chief minister. However, the latest developments and discussions about possible leadership changes appear to have shifted the tone of political messaging within the party.

Observers believe the appearance of posters reflects an attempt by local party workers to project Paswan as a future leader for the state, particularly at a time when Bihar’s political equations may be entering a new phase.

For now, no official decisions have been announced by the ruling alliance. However, the posters have added another dimension to ongoing discussions about the state’s political leadership and the future direction of the coalition government.
