According to the meteorological service, an active Western Disturbance is expected to cause thick fog and chilly waves across a number of northern states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. According to the meteorological service, a cold wave and fog were seen in a number of districts on Friday, including the capital city of Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Munger, Chhapra, and Purnea. In the majority of these areas, the thick fog continued throughout the day, causing visibility to drastically decline. According to the IMD, Friday’s minimum temperature in Patna was 8.6 degrees Celsius lower than usual.

The meteorological authority said that the minimum temperature was even lower than Jammu in a number of districts, including Patna, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, and Gaya. In Gaya city, the lowest recorded temperature was 12.2 degrees Celsius. In addition, the lowest temperature in the other 22 districts stayed at or around 10 degrees Celsius. At 25.1 degrees Celsius, Kishanganj registered the state’s greatest maximum temperature, according to the IMD.

The IMD additionally advised travelers to adjust their travel plans in light of the forecast that at least 30 districts may see heavy fog in the coming days. The prolonged fog will be exacerbated by the high humidity of 94% and the impact of westerly winds. Additionally, the district administration has been urged to be vigilant and take the required actions to guarantee the citizens’ safety.
