Addressing a public gathering in Kozhikode through a virtual message, Rahul Gandhi explained his absence, stating that his mother’s sudden hospitalisation required him to stay back in Delhi. He expressed concern over her health and said it was important for him to be by her side during this time. He also acknowledged the understanding of the people of Kerala, thanking them for their support.

According to officials at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Sonia Gandhi was admitted late Tuesday night following breathing-related discomfort. Doctors have since reported that her condition is stable, though she continues to remain under close observation.
