Accident – Nine-Year-Old Student Dies After Falling From Moving School Bus in Agra
Accident – A tragic accident in Agra on Wednesday claimed the life of a nine-year-old schoolgirl after she slipped through a damaged section of the floor of a moving school bus and fell onto the road. The child was reportedly run over by the vehicle’s wheel moments after the fall, leaving fellow students and family members in shock.

Incident Occurs While Returning Home From School
The incident took place near Biharipura in the Etmadpur police station area when students were returning home from school during the afternoon. According to officials and family members, the bus was moving along its regular route when the accident happened.
Naina, a Class 1 student, lost her balance while sitting inside the bus and slipped through a broken portion of the vehicle’s floor. Other children travelling in the bus quickly shouted for help, prompting the driver to stop the vehicle. However, by that time the young girl had already suffered severe injuries.
The child was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Family Raises Questions Over Bus Condition
The victim has been identified as Naina, daughter of Brahmajeet, a resident of Nagla Lale village. She studied at RBS School in Bhagupur. Her elder sister Pari, a Class 5 student, also attended the same school and was travelling in the same bus at the time of the incident.
Family members alleged that the school bus was not in proper condition and lacked basic safety arrangements for students. According to them, parts of the bus floor were damaged, and instead of proper seating, children were asked to sit on wooden planks placed across the broken areas.
Relatives further claimed that the bus driver failed to slow down while crossing a speed breaker on the road. The bus reportedly passed over the speed breaker with a strong jolt, causing one of the wooden planks to shift.
This sudden movement led to Naina losing her balance. She slipped through the damaged floor area and fell onto the road while the bus was still in motion.
Bus Wheel Ran Over Child After Fall
Eyewitness accounts from students travelling in the bus suggest that the vehicle’s wheel ran over the child immediately after she fell. Children inside the bus reportedly began shouting, which alerted the driver and led him to halt the bus.
The young girl was quickly taken to Goyal Hospital for treatment. However, despite efforts to save her, doctors confirmed that she had already died due to the severity of her injuries.
Parents Say They Were Not Informed Immediately
Naina’s father Brahmajeet said the school authorities did not promptly inform the family about the incident. According to him, the family only learned about the accident after contacting the school.
He stated that when he spoke to school representatives, he was told that his daughter had been injured in an accident and had been admitted to Goyal Hospital.
By the time he reached the hospital, his daughter had already passed away.
Family Left Devastated by Sudden Loss
The news of Naina’s death left her family members overwhelmed with grief. Relatives who arrived at the hospital described heartbreaking scenes as the child’s mother Sonam and grandmother Pancho Devi collapsed while mourning the loss.
Family members said the two sisters had left for school together in the morning and were returning home around 3 pm when the fatal accident occurred.
Police Register Case, Investigation Underway
Etmadpur Station House Officer Alok Kumar confirmed that police received information about the incident shortly after it occurred.
He stated that the victim’s family has filed a complaint regarding the accident. Following the complaint, police registered a First Information Report and sent the child’s body for post-mortem examination.
Officials said further investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances that led to the accident, including the condition of the school bus and the actions of those responsible for operating it.
Authorities are expected to review the case as part of the investigation into possible negligence and violations of school transport safety regulations.
