Suicide Case – A 24-year-old woman from the Antop Hill area was found dead in her home in what authorities believe to be a case of suicide following turmoil in a romantic relationship. Police have initiated legal proceedings against her boyfriend on allegations that his actions may have contributed to her decision to end her life.

Incident Discovered by Family Members

According to police officials, the young woman allegedly died by hanging late on the night of March 8 inside a room of her residence in Antop Hill. The situation came to light the following morning when family members attempted to enter the room and discovered her suspended from a ceiling fan with the help of a scarf.

Alarmed by the discovery, relatives immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital in the hope of saving her life. However, doctors at the medical facility declared her dead upon arrival.

Suicide Note Recovered During Investigation

During an initial examination of the residence, police recovered a six-page suicide note believed to have been written by the woman. Investigators said the note was written in English and contained details about her personal relationship with the accused.

Preliminary findings suggest the woman had been involved in a romantic relationship with the man for nearly a year. In the note, she reportedly described incidents where she felt humiliated and subjected to abusive language by him. Authorities believe the document indicates that these experiences had deeply affected her emotional well-being.

Officials stated that the contents of the letter suggest she had been experiencing considerable mental distress prior to the incident.

Case Registered Under Abetment of Suicide Law

Following the discovery of the note and a formal complaint submitted by the woman’s family, the police registered a case against the boyfriend. The case has been filed under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which deals with abetment of suicide.

Police sources confirmed that the accused is currently under scrutiny as investigators attempt to determine whether his conduct played a role in the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.

Forensic Examination and Ongoing Inquiry

Investigators have seized the suicide note and sent it for forensic examination to verify its authenticity and handwriting. Officials stated that the analysis will help confirm whether the document was indeed written by the deceased and whether any other evidence can be derived from it.

The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of a police inspector. Authorities are also examining the couple’s communication history and speaking with individuals who may have been aware of their relationship.
