Maha government : For the New Year, the extended hotel and bar hours
Maha government: A Government Resolution (GR) permitting eateries, lodging facilities, and orchestra bars across the state to stay open till five in the morning on New Year’s Day was released by the Maharashtra Home Department on Tuesday.

The goal of the government resolution, which was passed on December 30, 2025, is to expedite the yearly authorization procedure and meet the high demand during the year-end holiday season.
The resolution states that December 31 (New Year’s Eve) is when the operation hours will be relaxed. On certain days, businesses are allowed to stay open until five o’clock the next day.
According to the administration, the decision was made in order to prevent the annual administrative delays brought on by late applications from different organizations.
The state has put tight restrictions in place to maintain public safety and order even if the hours have been extended.
In order to avoid any problems with law and order, the government resolution mandates that business owners provide sufficient private protection both inside and outside their establishments.
The owner or licensed holder has main responsibility for any unpleasant occurrences or crimes that occur inside or around the property. All businesses must rigorously abide by Supreme/High Court rules on the use of loudspeakers and sound systems, as well as noise pollution laws, even with the time extension.
Only indoor and enclosed enterprises are eligible for this authorization. Businesses who operate in open areas or outdoor venues are not eligible for this extension.
During these long hours, the police administration has been instructed to take the appropriate safety measures to ensure public safety and tranquility.
