Uttar Pradesh government: To improve Jewar Airport connectivity, the Noida Authority is proposing a new elevated road and 500 e-buses
Uttar Pradesh government: Two important infrastructure projects intended to improve access to the future Noida International Airport in Jewar will be the subject of high-level talks between the Noida Authority and the Uttar Pradesh government. The current state and difficulties of the projected Yamuna Pushta Elevated Road and the 500 E-Bus Project will be discussed by representatives of the nodal agency.

The ideas will be presented to the board after these deliberations and subsequent government approval. Nonetheless, the state government has the last say.
Project for Yamuna Pushta Elevated Road
The goal of this project is to decongest current expressways by constructing a smooth route along the Yamuna embankment.
The Route: Starting close to the Sector-94 roundabout, the elevated road will go all the way to Sector-150. It will connect to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway as well as the Yamuna Expressway.
Design Change: The updated design suggests building the whole corridor as an elevated road, while the original plan called for a combination of an eight-lane on-ground road and a six-lane elevated road.
Present Obstacle: The project is now seeking a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the embankment land’s owner, the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department. Without this authorization, no work may begin.
Execution Strategy: The Noida Authority board had earlier determined that the project would be carried out by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA), with the Yamuna, Greater Noida, and Noida Development Authorities splitting the costs.
Next Steps: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) would be asked to start the work as soon as the Irrigation Department obtains the NOC.
The Project E-Bus
Due to financial and logistical issues, the ambitious plan to introduce 500 electric buses across Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway region is presently on hold.
The project, which is anticipated to cost Rs 675 crore, was initially intended to run 500 buses at once (300 for Noida, 100 for Greater Noida, and 100 for YIDA).
Problems with Feasibility: According to the three authorities, it is not feasible to deploy 500 buses at once in the present situation. There is currently a lack of essential infrastructure, such as bus depots, charging stations, route planning, and the establishment of an operational Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
Counter-Proposal: The government should carry out the project in stages, according to the authorities.
Phase 1: Launch 250 busses in order to determine the level of reaction and set up the required infrastructure.
Goal: A phased strategy would guarantee improved management and lessen the authorities’ burden from Viability Gap Funding (VGF).
Top authorities will convey these data to the government to obtain a realistic and practical strategy for both projects.
