Molestation – FIR Filed Against 18 After Minor Harassment Complaint in Gonda
Molestation – The Uttar Pradesh Police have registered a criminal case against 18 individuals following allegations that a minor student was harassed by people connected to her school in Gonda district. Eight of the accused have been identified by name, while 10 others remain unidentified. The case was filed after the girl’s father submitted a formal complaint to local authorities.

Allegations of Misconduct During School Commute
According to police officials, the complaint centers on claims that a man identified as Parvez Khan repeatedly made inappropriate remarks toward the Class 9 student while she was traveling to and from her private school. The father alleged that the accused is related to the school’s manager.
The complaint further states that the man sent messages to the girl through Instagram. These messages were later marked as “unsent” on the platform, but the family maintains that the communication caused distress to the minor.
Police sources said the father approached authorities after learning about the alleged behavior, prompting the registration of a First Information Report under relevant sections dealing with molestation and harassment.
Confrontation at School Premises
The situation escalated when the girl’s brother visited the school on Sunday to raise concerns with the administration. According to the FIR, he was allegedly met with hostility.
The complaint names Salahuddin Hafiz among those accused of verbally abusing the brother and chasing him with sticks from the school premises. The father has claimed that several others were involved in the confrontation, leading to further charges being included in the case.
Investigators are reviewing statements from both sides and are expected to question witnesses present at the time of the alleged incident.
Questions Raised Over School Operations
In addition to allegations of harassment, the complaint also raises concerns about the school’s administrative status. The father has alleged that the institution is being operated without proper recognition from the relevant education authorities.
The school manager, identified as Waris Khan, has also been named in the FIR. The complaint further claims that a cleric is frequently invited to the school and engages with students on religious matters. Police officials have not yet confirmed the validity of these claims and stated that this aspect will be examined during the course of the investigation.
Authorities have not issued any public statement regarding the school’s recognition status so far.
Police Begin Formal Investigation
Inspector Radheshyam Yadav of the Kaudiya police station confirmed that a case has been registered and that an investigation is underway. He said the police are examining the allegations related to molestation, intimidation, and other charges mentioned in the complaint.
Along with Parvez Khan, Salahuddin Hafiz, and Waris Khan, the FIR names Israil, Zakire, Sajid, Arshad, and Ibran as accused. Ten other individuals have been listed as unidentified persons.
Police officials indicated that further legal action will depend on the findings of the inquiry, including verification of digital evidence and witness testimonies.
At present, no arrests have been publicly confirmed. Authorities have stated that the matter is being handled according to legal procedure and that all claims will be investigated impartially.
The case has drawn attention locally, with residents calling for a thorough and transparent inquiry to ensure the safety of students and accountability where necessary.
