The authorities claim that Kishor established a full-fledged scam that included widespread extortion, false inspections, and promises of employment and bids. In addition to Lalit Kishor, the police have also imprisoned his brother-in-law Abhishek Kumar and his assistant Parmanand Gupta.

According to police sources, he recruited a sizable entourage, including 10 shooters who were paid Rs 30,000 a month and a stenographer who was paid Rs 60,000, in order to preserve the appearance of legality. He also drove cars with flashing beacons and used fake official license plates.

At the time of his arrest, many AI-generated images of Lalit Kishor replacing actual authorities were also confiscated, along with a number of counterfeit IDs, computers, jewelry, and cash.

How Was the Fraud Made Public?
An anonymous complaint uncovered the deception, revealing that Lalit Kishor had been operating an office in Jhungiya Bazar and residing in a leased property in Chiluatal.

“Fake Inspections” in Schools
Lalit Kishor is accused of conducting fictitious “inspections” at private schools while serving as an IAS official and extorting substantial amounts from their operators. His assistants allegedly requested up to Rs 55 lakh from a Bhatat school in one case.

According to the authorities, he also deceived others in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. According to a Patna complaint, he purchased two cars and more than Rs 1.70 crore for bids.

“Fake IAS officer Lalit Kishor and his two associates have been arrested and sent to jail … anyone who has been duped is urged to approach the police office and file a complaint,” said Additional SP, City Abhinav Tyagi, who is conducting an investigation.
