Board Exams – Over 52 Lakh Students Appear Across Uttar Pradesh

Board Exams – The Uttar Pradesh Board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 commenced on Wednesday, drawing participation from more than 52 lakh students across the state. Conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, the annual high school and intermediate exams will continue until March 12 under extensive administrative oversight.

Strict Monitoring in Place Across the State

From Lucknow to Prayagraj and from Ghaziabad to Varanasi, examination centres witnessed a steady stream of students arriving early in the morning. While many admitted to feeling the usual first-day anxiety, most expressed confidence in their preparation.

State authorities have implemented comprehensive security measures to maintain fairness. CCTV cameras have been installed at centres, flying squads are conducting surprise inspections, and static magistrates along with police personnel have been deployed to prevent any malpractice. Officials said the aim is to ensure a peaceful and transparent examination process.

District-Wise Preparations and Student Participation

In Ghaziabad district, 53,888 candidates appeared on the first day. This included 28,574 high school students and 25,314 intermediate students. Authorities placed all centres under close watch, with monitoring teams stationed at entry points to maintain discipline. Students were seen checking their roll numbers and confirming seating arrangements before entering the premises.

Ghazipur reported participation of nearly 1.37 lakh candidates. Sensitive centres have been identified, and special attention is being given to crowd management. Surveillance systems are operational, and movement around centres is being regulated to avoid congestion.

Varanasi has set up 118 examination centres across the district. To strengthen oversight, officials divided the district into 12 sectors. Magistrates have been assigned to each zone and sector, while five flying squads are actively monitoring activities throughout the examination period. A student from Varanasi shared that although she felt nervous, the arrangements outside the centre appeared well-organized.

Enhanced Vigilance in Bulandshahr and Chandauli

Bulandshahr authorities have stationed magistrates at 109 centres. The district has been divided into 12 sectors and seven zones for effective supervision. Six mobile squads are conducting inspections, and police presence has been reinforced at multiple points.

In Chandauli, exam centres have been grouped into five zones and 15 sectors. Officials confirmed that heightened vigilance is being maintained to uphold discipline and prevent the use of unfair means.

Heavy Morning Rush in Unnao

Several centres in Unnao witnessed large gatherings of students early in the day. At Atal Bihari Inter College, high school candidates assembled outside the gates before entry procedures began. The first paper for many students was Hindi.

Deepanshu, a student appearing at the centre, said he felt prepared and appreciated the arrangements made by the administration. Another student, Sonali Yadav, also expressed confidence about her preparation for the subject.

The centre administrator stated that efforts were made to create a positive atmosphere for candidates on the first day. A total of 399 students are scheduled to appear at the centre, and staff members ensured a smooth entry process.

Prayagraj Centres Begin Under Tight Checks

In Prayagraj, students reached centres such as Shivcharan Das Kanhaiya Lal Inter College well before the scheduled time. After thorough security checks, candidates were allowed into examination halls. Officials reiterated that detailed guidelines have been circulated to ensure fairness and transparency throughout the examination period.

One student in Prayagraj said she felt slightly anxious but remained confident about her preparation for the Hindi paper.

Focus on Fair and Transparent Conduct

Across districts, authorities emphasized that the primary objective is to maintain discipline and prevent malpractice. Flying squads, surveillance systems, and administrative teams will continue monitoring throughout the examination schedule.

With lakhs of students participating and elaborate arrangements in place, officials expect the board examinations to proceed smoothly over the coming weeks. The administration has appealed to students and guardians to cooperate with guidelines and maintain order at examination centres to ensure a fair experience for all candidates.
