Namibia’s 2026 T20 World Cup: team will be led by Gerhard Erasmus
Namibia’s 2026 T20 World Cup: Namibia’s pursuit of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which India and Sri Lanka will co-host from February 7 to March 8, will be headed by all-rounder Gerhard Erasmus. The African country will be participating in the event for the fourth time in a row. Namibia is placed in Group A with the United States, India, and Pakistan.

Namibia’s team will be led by Erasmus, while wicketkeeper-batter Zane Green will provide his opening-batting expertise. Along with fast bowlers Ruben Trumpelmann and Ben Shikongo, Namibia’s T20 team has a fantastic mix of seasoned international players with track records and experience, such as JJ Smit, Jan Frylinck, and Bernard Scholtz.The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka, is guaranteed for our FNB Eagles. WP Myburgh, Malan Kruger, and Nicol Loftie-Eaton will also provide Namibia’s lineup more batting strength.
At Arun Jaitley Stadium, Namibia will play their first encounter of the tournament against the Netherlands on February 10 before returning two days later to face the tournament hosts, India, on February 12.
Namibia will face the United States in Chennai on February 15 after their match against India. On February 18, they will return to Sri Lanka for their last group-stage match against Pakistan at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo.
India and Sri Lanka will co-host the 20-team competition, which will take place over 29 days at eight locations (three in Sri Lanka and five in India).
The locations include Eden Gardens (Kolkata), R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo), Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground (Colombo), Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (Kandy), MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai), Arun Jaitley Stadium (New Delhi), Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), and Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad).
