BCCI’s Apex Council Meeting: On December 22, the supreme council of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet for its Annual General Meeting, during which a significant change of central contracts will be discussed. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, two of Indian cricket’s brightest talents, will be the focus of the high-profile inspection.

The contracts of female domestic cricket players will also be taken into account, which is a big step in the direction of recognizing and promoting their contributions to Indian cricket.

According to PTI, the news agency, “the 31st AGM of the apex council will be held online, where decisions are expected on the contracts of Kohli and Rohit, both of whom have retired from Tests and T20Is over the past year and now feature only in ODI cricket.”

Alongside experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was recently named vice-captain for the Test series, and ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, India’s Test and ODI skipper Shubman Gill is expected to reach the top A+ category.

“Among other matters, a revision in payments for umpires and match referees, along with an update on the board’s digital properties, will also be discussed,” the article further added.

It will be the first AGM of the highest council after changes in the BCCI’s leadership, with Raghuram Bhatt taking over as treasurer and Mithun Manhas taking over as president in September.

Furthermore, Prabhtej Singh Bhatia was appointed joint secretary and Devajit Saikia as secretary.

Jaydev Shah, the president of the Saurashtra Cricket Association, joined the board as a councillor at the most recent elections.
