Vamsi Krishna: Vamsi Krishna wants Peddapalli-Mancherial to have a semiconductor facility

Vamsi Krishna:  Goddamn Vamsi Krishna, the MP for Peddapalli, urged the Center on Monday to create a semiconductor industry in Telangana’s Peddapalli-Mancherial region. He cited the region’s robust infrastructure, plentiful water supply from the Godavari River, and highly qualified workforce, which is backed by well-established companies like NTPC, Singareni Collieries, and Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL).

Vamsi Krishna criticized the Center’s choice to site a significant semiconductor project in Andhra Pradesh in his submission to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, claiming political favoritism towards the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), an NDA partner. He said that despite Telangana’s all-encompassing readiness, merit and regional capabilities were disregarded. He emphasized that building a semiconductor plant at Peddapalli-Mancherial will greatly boost the state’s industrial base, create a huge number of jobs, and reduce regional unemployment.

Vamsi reiterated that Peddapalli-Mancherial’s strategic assets were unfairly overlooked, saying, “The Union Government chose to play politics and shifted the semiconductor project to Andhra Pradesh instead of prioritizing merit and regional capability.”

The appeal comes after a Rs 468-crore semiconductor factory in Andhra Pradesh under the India Semiconductor Mission was approved by the Center in August 2025. Telangana authorities have repeatedly accused discrimination, saying their state had provided land, incentives, and investor commitments prior to the project being redirected, while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu applauded the decision as a boost to the state’s electronics sector.
