Tamil Nadu: Due to fog and bad weather, Chennai Airport had to cancel eleven flights

Tamil Nadu: Eleven flights were canceled at Chennai International Airport on Wednesday morning due to heavy fog and unfavorable weather in Delhi and other northern states, according to airport officials.

Seven incoming flights and four leaving planes were canceled throughout the day, according to an official statement. The flight operations in Delhi and numerous northern areas over the last several days have been affected by air pollution, bad weather, and continuous thick fog, which has led to the cancellations.

“Dense fog and unfavorable weather conditions have had a significant effect on flight services in Delhi and other northern regions. According to the statement, a number of planes headed for Delhi were forced to divert to other airports due to their inability to land.

Flight services between Chennai and northern cities have so continued to be interfered with. Four planes that were scheduled to depart Chennai for Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Ghaziabad were canceled on Wednesday. In a same vein, seven planes from Delhi, Jaipur, Patna, Pune, Kolkata, Indore, and other places that were supposed to arrive in Chennai today have also been canceled.

Passengers experienced severe inconvenience as a result of the cancellation of eleven flights in one day. Delhi, the nation’s capital, saw a little improvement in air quality on Wednesday morning. According to statistics from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was 328 at approximately 8 am, maintaining it in the “very poor” category.

With an AQI of 354 around 4 pm, the air quality was somewhat better than it was on Tuesday. Nonetheless, the city’s general air quality is still bad, and a sizable portion of it is still covered in harmful smog. According to official statistics from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI in Chennai was 95 at nine in the morning.

As to the CPCB classification, a score of 0–50 is considered “good,” 51–100 “satisfactory,” 101–200 “moderate,” 201-300 “poor,” 301–400 “very poor,” and 401–500 “severe.”
