Early Morning Collision in Subhash Nagar

According to investigators, the crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. when a speeding car struck a motorcycle being ridden by the delivery worker. The force of the impact was severe, leaving the rider critically injured at the scene. He was declared dead on the spot.

Police personnel reached the location shortly after receiving information about the incident. The damaged motorcycle and the car involved were found at the scene. Officers secured the area and began collecting evidence to determine how the accident unfolded.

The vehicle allegedly responsible for the collision has been seized. Authorities have also taken the driver into custody for questioning. Officials stated that legal proceedings will follow based on the findings of the investigation.

Investigation Underway

The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments and speaking to potential witnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events.

Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased, as efforts are underway to inform family members. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the crash are expected once preliminary findings are compiled.

Road safety experts have repeatedly raised concerns about speeding and reckless driving during early morning hours, when traffic is lighter and visibility can be limited. Authorities continue to urge motorists to follow traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies.

Another Fatal Crash Earlier This Month

The latest accident comes shortly after another deadly road incident reported near Lal Bahadur Shastri College in Dwarka South earlier this month. In that case, 23-year-old Sahil Dhaneshra lost his life after his motorcycle collided head-on with a Scorpio SUV.

Investigators revealed that the SUV was allegedly being driven by a 17-year-old minor at the time of the crash. The collision was powerful enough to push the SUV into a parked cab, leaving its driver seriously injured.

The minor, who did not possess a valid driving licence, was apprehended and presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. He was subsequently sent to an observation home. On February 10, he was granted interim bail to allow him to appear for his Class 10 Board examinations.

Legal Action and Charges

Delhi Police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections related to rash driving, causing death by negligence, and acts endangering human life. During the course of the investigation, the minor’s father was also detained for questioning.

Officials indicated that the father would be named in the chargesheet under applicable sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, as part of accountability measures when minors are found driving without authorisation.

Police confirmed that evidence gathered so far establishes that the minor was behind the wheel at the time of the Dwarka South accident and that he did not hold a valid driving licence. The investigation in that matter remains ongoing.

Rising Concerns Over Road Safety

The two fatal incidents have once again highlighted concerns about speeding, negligent driving, and enforcement of traffic laws in Delhi. Law enforcement agencies continue to stress the importance of responsible driving, particularly in residential and educational zones.

Authorities have urged citizens to report instances of reckless driving and to ensure that vehicles are operated only by licensed drivers. As investigations in both cases proceed, officials say further updates will be shared once additional findings emerge.
