Rekha Gupta : CM gives the relatives of the 1984 victims appointment letters
Rekha Gupta : 36 relatives of those impacted by the 1984 anti-Sikh riots received employment letters from Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday.

She said at the ceremony that her administration is still dedicated to providing the victims with fair and dignified support, even if no amount of government help will make their trauma go away.
Additionally, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa attended the function.
Speaking to the audience, Gupta related her own recollections of the brutality from her early years. When the riots of 1984 occurred, I was around ten years old. Everyone was afraid. Individuals were concealing who they were. “Everyone has witnessed those horrifying scenes,” she said.
“Those scenes could never be forgotten,” Gupta claimed. “The government must stand with the victims, but no support can fully ease the pain of those days,” she said.
The chief minister gave the federal government credit for the advancement of the riot-related judicial processes. “Cases reopened and those responsible started to be sent to jail only after the Modi government established the SIT,” she claimed.
She said that she saw herself as only an intermediary in assisting victims in getting the compensation they are due. “All we want is to lessen the suffering Delhi has endured for so long. We really want to help these families,” she said.
Sirsa expressed gratitude to the chief minister for giving long-overdue restoration projects first priority, stating that the action will provide some recognition and help to families who had been dealing with the riots of 1984 for decades.
