Mumbai Tragedy: While sleeping in Chimbai Ground in Bandra, a woman was crushed to death by JCB
Mumbai Tragedy: An unnamed lady was crushed to death on Saturday in the Bandra region when a JCB machine drove over her at Chimbai Ground while she was sleeping. In relation to the event, the Bandra Police have filed a case of unintentional death and detained Mohammad Salim Noor Khan, the JCB driver. Later, he was freed on bond.

The event happened within Chimbai Ground, just 20 feet from the entrance, at roughly 4 a.m. on Saturday. On Friday night, Bharatlall Jaiswal, a Parel resident and police constable assigned to the Bandra Police Station, was on night patrol as a beat marshal. A call about an accident at Chimbai Ground was received by the Mumbai Police control room during the patrol, claiming that an injured lady needed emergency medical attention.
When the police arrived, they saw a lady laying there with injuries and a throng gathered. She was taken right away to the adjacent Bhabha Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced her dead. Since no identification papers or personal possessions were discovered at the location, the lady could not be recognized. Later, a post-mortem investigation was performed on her corpse.
The lady was resting at Chimbai Ground throughout the night, according to preliminary findings. The accused had also brought a JCB to the scene at the same time. According to reports, the driver drove the JCB over the lady who was sleeping on the ground while reversing the car, seriously injuring her. Before getting any medical attention, she passed away from her wounds. The JCB driver was apprehended by locals and turned over to the police.
Constable Bharatlall Jaiswal’s complaint led the Bandra Police to file a case against the driver for driving a JCB carelessly and killing an elderly woman. After being detained, the defendant was later freed on bond. Police are working to identify the dead lady in the meantime.
